Menu Spotlight: Gluten Free Gnocchi
Our gluten free gnocchi dishes hold a very special place in our hearts, and they quickly became some of the most popular dishes on our menu.
While potato-based, it can be tricky to find truly gluten free gnocchi, as it is often made with both potato and flour, and cross contact can easily occur in shared kitchens, especially if regular flour is being used in a nearby workspace.
Maintaining our commitment to a dedicated gluten free environment, we make our gnocchi by hand with great care. It is no easy feat to make gnocchi from scratch for a busy restaurant, especially in a small NYC kitchen, but it’s a process that we truly enjoy. Especially knowing that many of our guests travel a great distance to dine with us or perhaps have never dined at a 100% gluten free restaurant before, we know that each bite is meaningful so we make every piece with love. And we think the difference is evident with each bite. Guests often say that they feel as if they’ve been transported to Italy.
We enjoy offering a wide variety of options to accommodate different food restrictions, as well as different taste preferences. Our menu currently features the following gnocchi dishes:
-Alla Bolognese – traditional meat sauce
-Alla Sorrentina – San Marzano tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella
-Ai Funghi – shiitake, portobello, and cremini mushrooms in a white cream sauce with parmesan
We’ve also occasionally offered additional gnocchi specials including gnocchi with a four cheese sauce or lamb ragu.
